（斗）十升也。賈昌朝作升十之也。此篆叚借爲斗陗之斗。因斗形方直也。俗乃製徒字。象形。有柄。上象斗形。下象其柄也。斗有柄者、葢象北斗。當口切。四部。許說俗字人持十爲斗。魏晉以後作升。似升非升。似斤非斤。所謂人持十也。凡斗之屬皆从斗。
